@viktor Wow! What an awesome resource
@viktor I'm guessing the "free, open-source..." description wasn't intended to be a direct comparison to Font Awesome, but it sure comes off that way.

@8r0fHA6ZurxVDP19vBJx Although it's not a direct comparison, Font Awesome Free doesn't use OSI-approved #opensource license.
https://opensource.org/licenses/

It's not software, so it's fine to use Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International: https://github.com/FortAwesome/Font-Awesome/blob/6.x/LICENSE.txt

That's why it was forked into Fork Awesome and is available under OSI-approved license:

I consider Font Awesome source-available with a generous free license.

I'm not a legal expert, just how I interpret it 🤷‍♂️

@viktor What a great tip! Thank you! 😃

@viktor

THX for the hint. Very cool that they are scalable. :)

@viktor @Strit Look at the issues list. The project is basically abandoned. No one is working on it.
@preya @Strit They just released v2 in March. How is that abandoned?
@viktor @Strit Let me rephrase: Not very active. They (mostly just one dev) haven't added new icons or fixed bugs in any of their packages in many months.
@preya @Strit It's free and open source. They don't get paid. So an occasional update is fine. They did release the download feature recently:

feat(app): add option to download raw svg by rektdeckard · Pull Request #319 · phosphor-icons/homepage

Adds a button to download Raw SVG, addressing #227 and #296

@viktor How do I decide on this vs Fork Awesome?
@afranke I like Fork Awesome, but I haven't seen any updates in a while. I'm curious if it's still actively maintained, or basically frozen at the current set of icons.
