"adblockers interfere with the intended operation of our site" sounds like a personal problem buddy
@roxy nah its fine. great way to signal that their site is doing shady BS.
@roxy 100% agree, I'm glad that Edge Reading Mode obliterates those whiney pop-ups and lets me read in peace. ๐Ÿ˜‚

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds wait, Edge now has it too? Didn't know that

Been using the reader mode in firefox (desktop AND mobile) for almost every website that want's me to enable cookies.

@SteffoSpieler
Edge has had that for a while...A few years in fact. They've done a better job than Google on that front.

@roxy yeah...

@roxy Has anyone noticed that websites are adding anti-adblock features? Like, uBlock Origin gets around them but on iPhone, with only Adguard DNS, a bunch of websites that didn't before are telling me to disable adblocking. With literally no way around it (except reader mode).
@lunardroid @roxy It's the main reason I use firefox nightly on my phone

The other reason is it's the only one that can also use the shinigami eyes extension. I am not very up -to-date on iphone apps, but it may be just as accurate to say that for Android as it is accurate for iOS
@roxy "But our architecture calls for transmitting your password from the form where you enter it to the system that checks it via an ad! If you block ads, it won't work!" โ€‹
@roxy Sounds like "mimimi" ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

@roxy this is up there with "try our app for a better experience!"

And I'm just like... you DESIGNED this website, if you know it's shit, why aren't you fixing it???

@roxy So true lol. I like my adblocker.
@roxy Yeah. To me, that absolutely reads as the site admitting they're so deeply entangled in collecting data to sell that they aren't worth trusting with any data at all.
@roxy Yeah, well, your ads interfere with the intended operation of my browser. And my mind.
@roxy me to those sites: sound's like a you problem than a me problem.
@roxy ouchie bad websites are bad... lets just leave them and never use them again
@roxy literal skill issue
@roxy Yeah it sounds like a huge red flag and makes me back away from the site in question pretty damn quick.

Hey, you need to check out Blacklight https://themarkup.org/blacklight

@roxy if your website runs in netsurf it's a good website
@koyu I'm looking this up and my website may not run in it just because it enforces TLS 1.2 connections lmao

@roxy "our site" is meant to be read and I can't if the stupid ads didn't block the actual content.

I get it, ad revenue keeps the sites free and journalists paid (everyone deserves to get paid) But if the ads block the information, its useless. I would stop using my adblocker if they stopped using the darn ads that blocked everything.
