Oh before I forget..

Don't use Google Chrome

Better go with #Firefox @mozilla   or #Vivaldi @Vivaldi

@stux @mozilla @Vivaldi

I'm curious. Since Vivaldi is Chromium based, other than severing Google account connections, how is it different than Google Chrome? Makes it better. Accounts links aside, both MS Edge, Google Chrome and Vivaldi all share the same parent (Chromium) DNA.

I'm not being obtuse here.

Edit. I found a comparison chart from #Vivaldi. https://vivaldi.com/compare/chrome/

Vivaldi - A Chrome alternative that puts you first

Vivaldi is a lightweight, ultra customizable Chrome alternative that prioritizes your privacy - not our own profit. Try Chrome on steroids now!

Vivaldi Browser
@paul @stux @mozilla @Vivaldi Unlike #Vivaldi, #Chrome is basically corporate spyware, and #Edge isn’t much better. The Chromium base they all share is open source.

@EpiphanicSynchronicity @stux @mozilla @Vivaldi

I get that. I didn't know exactly what direction Stux was going with his reasoning. Stability, privacy, etc.

FYI, I've used barebones Chromium forever on Debian. Probably close to a decade.

@stux @mozilla @Vivaldi much prefer Tor Browser
@HipHeadAvery @stux @mozilla @Vivaldi that's more of a special browser, not really a replacement for chrome for everyday use
@stux I use @Vivaldi too, but instead of #Firefox ( by @mozilla ) I prefer to use #Librewolf (https://librewolf.net) and #Waterfox (https://waterfox.net). Right now I use Waterfox more then any of those browsers.
LibreWolf Browser

A custom version of Firefox, focused on privacy, security and freedom.

huh @stux, isn’t @Vivaldi also proprietary like Chrome?
@cnx @stux @Vivaldi https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/privacy/is-vivaldi-open-source/
Runs on Chromium, and the UI code is open-ish I guess?
Is Vivaldi Open Source? | Vivaldi Browser Help

Find out the answer to this common question - is Vivaldi Browser open source?

Vivaldi Browser Help
@Mann_Servante, it’s either free software, or it isn’t. @Vivaldi either actively makes derivation difficult or does not. Open-ish means not, same goes for Chrome (TBF the latter is also known to be spyware). My trust model automatically disqualifies proprietary software and I consider advocating for them harmful, but that shouldn’t stop @stux (or anyone else) from enjoying free speech on the interwebs 🤷
@stux @mozilla @Vivaldi I started using a different Chromium-based browser recently: #Iridium

@stux @mozilla @Vivaldi vivaldi being chromium follows the path led by google. It contributes to chromium monopoly.
@stux @[email protected] @Vivaldi just a question? Why and what about a browser like duck duck go
@stux @mozilla @Vivaldi mozilla is google's puppet.
