@JessTheUnstill Should i give the upper bound? Given the confirmed number is 0 but more wouldn't surprise me

@ellenor2000 @JessTheUnstill

Same here. Pretty sure twice, but never tested via rapid. Symptoms resolved in under 48 hours. Others in the house got hella sick. I'm robustly prophylaxed and have been for years. Hopefully my tissues are impregnated with compounds that retard replication. No way to stop it entirely, tho.

@JessTheUnstill confirmed or suspected times? I've never been diagnosed or tested positive, but I'm pretty sure I've had it at least twice.
@JessTheUnstill Of those who have not have Covid, how many wear masks? I am guessing most.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I wear masks in crowded indoor spaces.
@DrSuzanne Thank you for masking! I just attended a weeklong conference with over 7000 people. Of the 11 I know for sure got covid there, I don't think any of them wore a mask. I wore a mask all week, and did not get it.
@Shivadam For reasons that were somewhat beyond my control, I took a vacation abroad this summer, and I masked every time I was in an airport, subway, or museum. It sucked, but I also did not get sick. And that was actually the best part of the trip.
@DrSuzanne @Shivadam
Wore a mask when I had to travel two weeks ago, was fine, but a friend was wearing full on N95 and caught it, he suspects on the plane.
@DNA @DrSuzanne @Shivadam Unfortunately, sometimes it’s just going to depend on who’s sitting next to you.
@DrSuzanne @Shivadam @JessTheUnstill Any time I'm indoors away from home or my (unshared, open-windowed) office.
@JessTheUnstill @Shivadam paranoid masking, WFH, isolation as much as possible, only grocery shop as soon as the doors open on Sunday mornings…. It seems to have worked. Or, 1) we’re lucky as all get out, or 2) we’ve been asymptomatic…

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill When I was OTR trucking, waking up next to an ambulance taking an anti-mask boomer out of their truck and to the hospital dozens of times scared me straight. I wore a mask to the constant harassment of the boomers.

I stopped when most people did, but I got the vaccine ASAP and as frequently as advised.

I sit at a 0 known times I got sick, but I've got some tests stashed for next time.

@MontgomeryGator @Shivadam @JessTheUnstill Please wear a mask, the best time to do something good is when nobody else is, and you have to have confidence doing the right thing for yourself and others around you!
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill Was using a kn95 any time I have been anywhere, recently switched to n95.

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I wear a mask most indoor places, especially anything remotely medical (sick people places) I did not in restaurants after shot, but avoided crowded ones. Outside, no mask. I haven't had to mass transit travel since covid, which helps. Masked for hugs of well traveled visitors, social distance the rest of the time +handwashing. Fairly regular home testing due to being around a person in chemo

It helps my main people are respectful and mindful.

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill N95 mask whenever I go out. I'm immunocrompromised, have chronic illnesses. I absolutely cannot take the risk of getting Long Covid. I would cease to be able to function if I got that.
As for air travel, forget it.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I bet they don't have kids in school
@princelysum @Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I see my grandbabies every week - I wear an n95 mask because my granddaughter (her family doesnt mask and none of the kids at school mask) has brought covid home 3 times.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill Not had Covid to my knowledge vax x 5 and I wear N95 all the time
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I wore a mask and was even obliged by my employer to wear one and still got covid four times. The last time being just a couple weeks ago. My point is not against masking, but if you have enough negligent people, even a mask is not going to prevent you from getting sick
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I mask and get every vaccine dose that's available to me. Until the post-covid sequelae risk becomes negligible, I will continue to do so.
@Shivadam @[email protected] more than just mask-wearing. There is a lot of hand washing, staying at least six feet from others and six vaccination shots. My seventh will be this October and it will be the new version.
@piratero I've had six vaccinations too, and looking forward to the next one!

@Shivadam that’s the spirit!

It’s a medical issue with a medical solution!

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill
I do.
Everywhere except outdoor. FFP2 even just to go and check my letterbox.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I mask and am cautious and am almost 100% certain I’ve never had it. Spouse did. However my mother who is in assisted living has always been lax. During the time when it was sweeping through the facility she was tested daily and never registered positive. That said both my mother and I can count the times we’ve been sick with anything on two hands with fingers left over.
Never had flu, strep, orchicken pox pre vaccine.
@CatDragon Wow, that's great!
@Shivadam there are rumors of super immunes, people who don’t seem to catch common illnesses, but I don’t think anyone has researched it.

@CatDragon This is an interesting point, the idea of "super immunes." If so, I am certainly not one of them! Before masking, I caught every cold, flu and allergy that went around.

Since vaccines and masking, nothing.

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill wear masks indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces.

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I did wear back then but I haven't in like over a year? Nobody else I see wears either. I've had no symptoms at any point, tested twice after a trip just to make sure, but they came back negative. I genuinely believe I just never got it. Last time I had any sort of illness, fever, cough, throat pain, runny/stuffed nose etc was summer 2019 when I had pharyngitis.

Did get the three shots which are offerend in this country as soon as they were available for me.

@komikymi @Shivadam @JessTheUnstill Now is a good time to start masking again! Not only has the immunity from the vaccines largely waned, but the variants have changed as well. You got very lucky, now embrace and accept that luck by doing better going forwards! <3 If you need help sourcing any masks PM me :>
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill Wore masks quite adamantly throughout the pandemic, and indeed got 0 covids to report

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill

0 for me; I've been N95'ing everywhere for 3.5 years now.

@atatassault Great! I'm following you just on the basis of the AT-AT.

Seen #Ahsoka yet? I like it!!

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I’ve been masking in crowded indoor spaces as much as possible since the pandemic began. Not only have I successfully avoided COVID thus far, but I also haven’t been sick with any other type of infection that is communicable via water droplets. I’m used to getting a cold 2–3 times per year, and I’ve had nothing of the sort since 2019. I don’t see myself ever returning to a totally mask-free existence.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill
Everywhere, for the most part. And I avoid people like the plague.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill anywhere dirty humans congregate. So everywhere.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill
Masked here. But most everyone was masked in Japan.

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill All the time. Everywhere.

I also haven't caught a cold in four years. I'm wearing a mask for the rest of my life! (Or until there are universal anti-transmission vaccines for covid _and_ colds 🤞 )

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I wear a mask anytime I am indoors with people I don't live with, or when in a crowded area.
@PrincessPie @Shivadam @JessTheUnstill Same with me, and only outdoor dining for me when I’m out.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill wore a mask, socially distanced, didn’t meet anyone, listened to the scientists instead of the government.

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill Great question!
Although many people who had Covid-19 didn't know they had.
That said, I have two comorbidities for it, so I always cared a lot.

After ~3 years of working from home, in January I had to work on-site, being the only one wearing a mask on my floor.
With 4 shots and expecting my 1st bivalent, in March I had symptoms and confirmed, having a week in my bed, worse than a flu. I'm sure I got Covid-19 at the restaurant, which doesn't have external seats.

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill

We wear masks #FFP3 in all indoor situations (shops, doctors' pratices, hospitals, offices, car parks, etc.). We avoid going to restaurants, if we do we takeout 99% or very rarely eat outside at the greatest possible distance from others.
So far, we only attend conferences, congresses, etc. online. We avoid events without an online option.

We have had 6 vaccinations (last this spring) and are waiting for the latest vaccine serum.

@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill
Haven't wore a mask since mid 2021, didn't get COVID. I was ill a couple of time these past year but i never came back positive for COVID.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill didn’t see the poll till after it closed, but I would have replied with 0. As for masks, I wear them more frequently when I travel. But I live in a small town where most people don’t travel and Covid is fairly non existent here right now. I watch it pretty regularly, and if it ticks back up, I pull the masks back out.
@JessTheUnstill I'm in my second time. I got it first in the first wave. 😭

@JessTheUnstill Oh, I've collected the whole set: Alpha, Delta, Omicron

Will likely be adding more as there seems to be an annual release schedule to the collection
