@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill When I was OTR trucking, waking up next to an ambulance taking an anti-mask boomer out of their truck and to the hospital dozens of times scared me straight. I wore a mask to the constant harassment of the boomers.
I stopped when most people did, but I got the vaccine ASAP and as frequently as advised.
I sit at a 0 known times I got sick, but I've got some tests stashed for next time.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I wear a mask most indoor places, especially anything remotely medical (sick people places) I did not in restaurants after shot, but avoided crowded ones. Outside, no mask. I haven't had to mass transit travel since covid, which helps. Masked for hugs of well traveled visitors, social distance the rest of the time +handwashing. Fairly regular home testing due to being around a person in chemo
It helps my main people are respectful and mindful.
I'm still masking.
@CatDragon This is an interesting point, the idea of "super immunes." If so, I am certainly not one of them! Before masking, I caught every cold, flu and allergy that went around.
Since vaccines and masking, nothing.
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill I did wear back then but I haven't in like over a year? Nobody else I see wears either. I've had no symptoms at any point, tested twice after a trip just to make sure, but they came back negative. I genuinely believe I just never got it. Last time I had any sort of illness, fever, cough, throat pain, runny/stuffed nose etc was summer 2019 when I had pharyngitis.
Did get the three shots which are offerend in this country as soon as they were available for me.
0 for me; I've been N95'ing everywhere for 3.5 years now.
@atatassault Great! I'm following you just on the basis of the AT-AT.
Seen #Ahsoka yet? I like it!!
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill All the time. Everywhere.
I also haven't caught a cold in four years. I'm wearing a mask for the rest of my life! (Or until there are universal anti-transmission vaccines for covid _and_ colds 🤞 )
@Shivadam @JessTheUnstill Great question!
Although many people who had Covid-19 didn't know they had.
That said, I have two comorbidities for it, so I always cared a lot.
After ~3 years of working from home, in January I had to work on-site, being the only one wearing a mask on my floor.
With 4 shots and expecting my 1st bivalent, in March I had symptoms and confirmed, having a week in my bed, worse than a flu. I'm sure I got Covid-19 at the restaurant, which doesn't have external seats.
We wear masks #FFP3 in all indoor situations (shops, doctors' pratices, hospitals, offices, car parks, etc.). We avoid going to restaurants, if we do we takeout 99% or very rarely eat outside at the greatest possible distance from others.
So far, we only attend conferences, congresses, etc. online. We avoid events without an online option.
We have had 6 vaccinations (last this spring) and are waiting for the latest vaccine serum.
