You know youβre invested when youβre yelling, βB!tch, b!tch!!β at your tablet & you have to walk away before you hit the screen.
This is agony.

Oh no! What episode have you finished? The styling etc. is so very much of it's time, 2009, it is almost cringe worthy but it was the kdrama gateway for many π
So cringe-worthy! I was having a hard time getting into it because the female characters are so one dimensional & generally clueless, but by episode 21, I am hooked and emotionally invested.
I thought I should watch because of its βclassicβ status. Iβm glad I am - I have recognized so many references back to this show from other dramas now.
Just popped onto NFx to view ep 21 and now I know why you want to scream B!tch π
Some of the acting is soooo bad like the guy trying to squeeze out a tear with grandpa at the lake. You can see how Lee Min-Ho became such a big star.
Quite a few references in other shows for sure. The original Japanese version has been remade made times and in many countries. A quite good version, with a few differences, is the Mandarin 2018's Meteor Garden also on NFx.
Perfectly reasonable response to eps. 21, right?
Itβs so fun to watch 10+ year old shows and you can just see the talent oozing out of certain actors - and sure enough they went on to become stars. I noticed that with Park Min Young & Song Joong Ki in Sungkyunkwan Scandal too.

I haven't seen Coffee Prince yet. It's on my list.
Again, I like it and it is a classic but shows its age in terms of style.

Still not yet! So much to watch! That will be a goal for 2026!

I hope you do finally get around to it. It remains the definitive #KDrama romcom - ahead of its time in many of its attitudes, and with none of the fixation on murdery/serial killer arcs of the last decade.
@mel @EllenInEdmonton @hanktank61 @cinderdazzle612 @KDramaQn Ah, then it may or may not be your cup of tea.
I'm not in reality shows at all either, but last year I started watching low key cooking shows from Korea because I'm studying Korean. There's some non-stressful, non-cutthroat cooking fare that I'm really enjoying. (Much to my surprise, I would never have guessed that I'd like this. lol)
@hanktank61 @mel @EllenInEdmonton @cinderdazzle612 @KDramaQn I love kimchi but even mild spice doesn't work for my body, which is heartbreaking (and made eating in South Korea something of a challenge when I worked there).
But I am all about baek kimchi / white kimchi! After missing it for many years, I finally found some places I can order it online.
Very much so. Sungkyunkwan Scandal also starred Yoo Ah In. YAI has been in a number of great movies and dramas, notably the drama Secret Affair and movies Veteran and The Throne. Sadly he is now embroiled in a drug scandal so not sure when we will see him again.
