"The behavior of these public figures makes clear the depth of their arrogance. They act as if the rule of law does not apply to them, that they are above the law, that their treatment is an indignity, an unjust attack, a scandal." https://america.substack.com/p/the-depth-of-arrogance
The Depth of Arrogance

The criminal defendants who still believe they are above the law

America, America
@StevenBeschloss Virtually the entire Republican acts this way. Look at the debate. DeSantis wants to invade Mexico. Ramasawarmy wants Russia to take whatever it wants. Scott and Pence were busy preaching the gospel instead of policies and Haley wants us to believe she’s the sane one! In the meantime, all but one said they would support a convicted felon who conspired to override election results. #AndTheAudienceApproved 🤦‍♂️
@DavePerrino @StevenBeschloss
That’s Ramasmarmy! Get it right!!

@DavePerrino @StevenBeschloss
Still though, the GOP seems to be making progress, like an arsonist does when they obtains more volatile ingredients.

In 2016, there were a few serious GOP presidential candidates, though they quickly sank to the bottom of the polls as the media deprived them of any air time. This time around, as of now, there are no serious GOP candidates. So that's progress, in a reverse way.

@StevenBeschloss
Trump got much closer to the camera to glower at it more effectively? Let’s hope he ends up with a lovely orange is the new black prison mugshot. If he does I’ll print that and put on the wall in my home office to remind me that justice does exist for the wealthy and powerful. Until then, it’s just theoretical.

@StevenBeschloss

‘Pushed by Carlson to say more about the potential for conflict, Trump said he didn’t know. But that didn’t stop him from suggesting the prospects for violence: “There's a level of passion that I've never seen, there's a level of hatred that I've never seen, and that's probably a bad combination.”’

Maybe Donald J. Trump (Fulton County inmate No. P01135809) should stop pouring gasoline on the dumpster fire that is his political base.

@StevenBeschloss every magazine I saw in 2022 published an article stating that 2023 would be the year that the narcissists get put in their place.

Magazines like cosmopolitan, psychology today, and I’m pretty sure the Atlantic even had one. So they weren’t specifically talking about this case, but I am delighted to see that their predictions were true. And not just with this case.

@StevenBeschloss Georgia gop have passed a law to get rid of Fanni Willis. The gop of Georgia are criminals who are trying to protect more criminals.
@StevenBeschloss for decades they have been right
@StevenBeschloss Great article. I'd like to add that (thanks in part to funding from right wing US interests) this behaviour as a means of getting and holding power is exported around the world. It would be great if it could be stopped, and hopefully these legal actions will go some way to demonstrating that it's not a winning strategy. Of course, who knows what's then next?
