Dear Meg, our elderly whippet (13 ½) is quite poorly, having picked up a nasty virus last week that’s playing havoc with her digestive system. We’re trying to nurse her ourselves now after one night’s hospitalisation, which cost around £300 per night. But getting up during the night several times for toilet trips isn’t good for our health either. There’s going to be a reckoning soon…. whether to let her go 😢
