The only thing I don't like about #mastodon is how little engagement I get here, I guess it's because most people that normally would respond are still on the ex site - I dunno.
I still got about 3500 followers there, and posts get generally 100+ views.

But it took years to build :)

@takeitev I know, I had over 10,000 followers on TwiX, and engagement, quantity-wise, is noticeably less here.
Quality, however, makes up for a lot. ๐Ÿ˜Š

@takeitev I'm in the same boat with one of my accounts on the old dead bird it had just over 5000 now has under 4000 so people are leaving. I started in 2010 and it was difficult but I kept at it, I look at it that now I have to do the same again.

There is little or sometimes no engagement here but if we give up everyone gives up, I found your post and have responded so it's a start.

Keep going we own this one and no rich kid can buy it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@takeitev mastodon is still a fraction of the size of Twitter, and as well as the other alternatives thereโ€™s going to be people giving up on this form is social media. We may get a similar situation as we now have with streaming, thereโ€™s loads of equal competition, not just Netflix. I have greater faith in the longevity of Mastodon than the others, but if they do last hopefully theyโ€™ll allow for api access and you can cross post to all automatically
