One of the elements of the operation of the Auschwitz camp was looting of the property of people deported to the camp. This was most intensified when Nazi Germany began the extermination of Jews at Auschwitz.

Most of the property was sent to the Third Reich, where it was handed over to various groups of the German population, organizations and institutions.

Thanks for responding to his antisemitism and I apologize for our #GeneralFlynn
@auschwitzmuseum glad to see this podcast. I don’t have time to spare to listen to podcasts because I must remain vigilant with my hearing for caregiving needs. I wish it weren’t on Spotify since there are no transcripts. It’s easier for me to read.

@cobalt @auschwitzmuseum

There are a fair number of books on the subject, typically with very similar titles; nearly all include "plunder". I did a quick search and the two nearest county libraries systems to me each had several.

@Frances_Larina @auschwitzmuseum thanks for this idea! I recently got a new library card after not using it for 15 years. It was because inter-library loans have become very common and I could read some newspapers with paywalls , using the library card.
@auschwitzmuseum they took everything!! Including hair from the dead to make blankets…. If you have not been there, seen the horror…you need to. Everyone needs to go.
