Friedkin had a real counterfeiter setting up the process of counterfeiting depicted in the movie To Live and Die in LA.
The counterfeits produced for the film were so good, that crewmembers were interrrogated by Secret Service Agents. Even Friedkin himself was contacted by them but refused to talk, unless they showed up with a warrant.
