@arstechnica

If they can charge the fees, they can list the fees.

@arstechnica

What a bunch of hooey...

They are acting as if they were handwriting each and every customer invoice...

🤬 🤯 😂

@arstechnica The most stupid argument. Ever. Exclamation point.

@arstechnica

If you ever find a dead account (like an unused grandpa account) ISPs can't tell that it was never used. However 1 byte over the limit and overages are automatic.

The ISPs deal a commodity but want to charge boutique prices.

@arstechnica

Coming soon to an ISP bill near you: "Listing of fees fee: $2.99/month"

@arstechnica translation: listing all out fees is going to piss customers off and raise questions we’d rather not answer.
@arstechnica It's funny how they don't seem to have a problem listing them all on one's monthly bill, though.
@arstechnica I don't really get what that is about. When I make a contract with a company, of course they have to list everything what I have to pay, or do I just not understand what is happening?

@autinerd @arstechnica

I think the issue is they list a line item of “taxes & fees” for $XX but don’t specify what the fees are specifically for, nor how much is tax vs fee. Result: they could hide anything in there and call it a “fee”, while hoping everyone dismisses it as tax.

@arstechnica I feel so sorry for them to have to know why they charge what they charge
@arstechnica lol if it's too complicated then either get rid of it, or list it. What s bunch of assholes
@arstechnica The lists already exist! They're in the billing system. They don't want to admit that what they're actually opposed to is transparency.
@arstechnica ISPs can eat shit. You don’t have to list any fees if you use up-front pricing, you assholes.
@arstechnica Screw that. They have a list somewhere for billing purposes. Pull from this, guys. >.< NOT forcing this only means that they can continue to hide surprise fees.
@arstechnica this is obviously crazy considering the opposite perspective i.e where you list all the reasons you can't pay them will get you sued or your service cut
