msb98@nixCraft surprised that no one mentioned Sublime Text yet. Not as bloated as VSCode nor does it require memorizing countless keyboard shortcut to be used
rhempel@nixCraft I am still happy that I have almost 40 years of vi muscle memory in my fingertips, but I have in the last 2 years been amazed at how much I have come to rely on VSCode for daily use in embedded systems development under Docker.
Same goes for Docker by the way as I was stuck using VMs for so many years.
I started programming on the University of Toronto's timeshared punch card system back in the late 70s - we have come so far since then :-)

Frozen Leo ❄️🇺🇦@nixCraft - You don’t need vim, just use vi, which is the default editor, almost guaranteed to be on every UNIX and UNIX like system.
I remember an old meme, everything I need to know about vi fits on a standard coffee mug … the equivalent mug for EMacs would be a 10 gallon mug …
