Forgot what it’s like to live somewhere where you can watch seasons fight with each other.
I have waited longer for this stupid shot than I am willing to admit.
Bricktown
Spring colours
God, I love this city
Yesterday, back in Chicago
It really does feel so different come spring
Look at this!
Inside me, there are two wolves
Some telephoto trains
Today’s vibes
Squeak/Meow/Squeak/Squeak
I love this so, so much.
I am so obsessed with this stretch of the brown line, I just got there again today.
Not sure if you can tell, but the driver in the first photo was waving and honking at me. They always seem to enjoy this!
A moody, rainy Sunday
Stumbled upon the mythical Lower Lower Wacker Drive today. It exists below even the lower level of Wacker Dr, and apparently this is where impounded cars go. It’s more than a little spooky.
(Arguably, above is somewhat more beautiful.)
I am currently under two (2) trains.
Lincoln Park at sunset
Still my fav aesthetic of 2023
I am not sure if this is a good project or not, but it’s genuinely always exciting to see public transit improvements happening at scale.
@mwichary I also love the older CTA font for some reason; I think it's still up at one of the Oak Park stations.
@Zwieblein Tell me more!
@mwichary Not sure whether it's the green or blue line (or both!), but unless it's been changed recently with renovations, it's that same skinny-slanted font featured in the bottom right corner photo. I'm wondering whether I'm misremembering seeing it as well on one of the stations near Tri-Taylor/UIC.
@Zwieblein What is the font used for? The station name?
@mwichary Just that CTA logo on the side of an above-ground station house; the station name itself makes use of the same signage currently employed system-wide.
@Zwieblein Ah, thanks! I actually saw one today by the green line. Maybe that’s the one you meant
@mwichary Looks familiar! It's amazing how you pass by things so often, you cease paying attention—and then can't pin down exactly where that everyday thing is located!
