There is nothing more decisive in the #JaneAusten community than the war against 2005 and 1995 of #PrideandPrejudice. Funny hardly anyone mentions any other cinematic version, just those two.

May I put in a word of praise for the 1980 TV version, with David Rintoul as Darcy? It boasts possibly the best Mr. Collins scene ever.

That’s the adaptation that got me reading Austen and helped me make a lifelong friendship that started in 7th grade and continues to this day, so I will never not love it.
