@Skepticat I'm surprised it is that much. I live in Iowa so I get invites to every politician wanting to run. None of them talk about issues important to Iowa:
We have no oil, and most of our electric comes from wind: we don't care about your oil base energy policy. If they talked about an ethanol (or biodiesel) based energy policy they could get farmers interested, but oil is meaningless to us.
We are also along way from any border. immigration doesn't really mean much to us in general as few illegals make it this far north. (there are a lot of legal Mexicans here and that does concern some - thinking they are all illegal)
