#PrideAndPrejudice 2005 has been on Netflix for over a month and I have YET to re-watch it. This is one of my top 5 movies. I have a copy of it and #BecomingJane on my ipad for travel I love it that much.

What is wrong with me!

@ExcessivelyDiverting greetings, fellow 2005 P&P connoisseur! šŸ˜‚ One of my favorite comfort movies of all time, which I quote way too often.

I'm not complaining about it being on Netflix, but I'm also a frequent consumer of the commentaries and other special features, so I'm never getting rid of my DVD.

@hawksquill Yep, still own the DVD AND I ripped it to digital so I can watch it on my ipad AND home server. But having it on a streaming service is just *chef's kiss.*

@ExcessivelyDiverting @bookstodon But have you watched Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? #Review https://www.darkmatterzine.com/pride-and-prejudice-and-zombies/

I confess I haven’t read the P&P&Z book but love the movie. And the original Pride and Prejudice book is, I think, the romcom against which I measure all other romcoms.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016)

I was a bit slow to watch Pride and Prejudice and Zombies because I loathed Warm Bodies in spite of its failed attempt to mash-up Shakespeare and zombies.

Dark Matter Zine
@DarkMatterZine @ExcessivelyDiverting @bookstodon The movie was execrable. The fun of the "voice" of Austen's Pride and Prejudice with zombies and ninjas was what kept me reading. I gave the book to my sister-in-law and even though she looked at me with a "You've got to be kidding" glare, I told her to regift it to her son. Because Zombies and Ninjas.
@mvilain @ExcessivelyDiverting @bookstodon books are usually better. I can name a few exceptions: anything by Philip K Dick (but that last season of Man in the High Castle was just STUPID), and Vampire Academy. With so many movies/tv series based on VA I thought the book would have been better.

@DarkMatterZine @bookstodon YEP! And own the Blu-Ray. :) (And read the book.)

And I agree, you don't need to tell me a #romance book is enemies to lovers anymore, just say it's a re-write of P+P!

@ExcessivelyDiverting @bookstodon Usually I take issue with the ā€œenemies to loversā€ trope where in P&P it was disdain at first sight then a slow growing attraction after he’d offended her. Real enemies IMO isn’t believable. Misunderstandings and prejudice? Yes.
