If you know any #Mikrotik users on here, boost this toot, let them know we are here as well :)

@mikrotik rather new, bought three hAP mini as first models, but my friend wbx is a fan of yours since idk 15+ years

the WLAN is… not as promising as I had thought, but they’ll do I think. Two are supposed to be an airgap bridge between two Ethernet segments, to connect the room where my SPARCstations are to the home LAN (once I get electricity there)

@mirabilos It's our smallest and admittedly it's not very powerful, but we do have nice 802.11ax access points which can get you even 750-800Mbits of real live (not "ad") throughput

@mikrotik we don’t even need nowhere that much, but we have a rather saturated 2G4Hz band in this house (many neughbours also operating WLAN APs) which makes things tricky, I’ll have to see how the 5GHz band is :~ one of the internet connections that uses a Fritzbox is getting a newer one next week or so that can do 5GHz as well, then we’ll see.

For the LAN bridge over WLAN, 11 Mbit/s will suffice, and it’s deep enough in the building most other networks won’t interfere, so we’ll be good with the hAP mini there.

@mikrotik and what if we don't know any?
@mikrotik I've got several that we use for the #aredn networking capabilities courtesy of being based on OpenWRT.
@mikrotik Yo mikrotik, i would like to get a CCR2004-1G-2XS-PCIe but they are out of stock everywhere
@Jain Make sure to place a pre-order with a local distributor. They sell out when a new shipment comes in. They all go to people that pre-order, so they might never be "in stock" if demand keeps this high. We can't make more at the moment, due to shortages in some parts. This is slowly improving.
@mikrotik cant pre-order with my current hardware supplier which i trust
Anyway, thank you
@mikrotik mikrotik drinking game: we all drink
@mikrotik ok, boost your toot, but only because you finally managed to integrate 802.11r in your products (after a long waiting time).
