News media should be embarrassed to use this logo. I still long for the day when we can move to use the username and server they're on fediverse style. I'm still hoping that Meta will add ActivityPub, which will be the catalyst needed to change the paradigm away from whatever Twitter has become.
@jon in this picture, it reads like “XaCC Krebs” (a solid cyberpunk name)
@jon seeing it out of context, it looked someone was sending a kiss @ them. Or asking others to!
@jon @Gargron ... has Chris Krebs joined the X11 development effort, then...?

@jon @Gargron the journalists are proud of it, not just some amorphous “news media”.

They’ve had all this time to leave, and they are giving money to Nazis at this point.

Bluesky shows they’ll run to whatever gives them some sheen of exclusivity. It’s sick.

@jason @jon @Gargron NPR has rightfully left Twitter and made it clear that it's no longer possible for news organizations to trust the platform.
@jon It would've been relatively easy for Twitter to say "all right, you can see Mastodon posts on twitter.com now", but nooo they had to go and screw EVERYTHING
@jon x continue hitting all time high monthly user, while here ?
@jon we do not need or want ActivityPub integration with Meta. We don't need or want anything else from Meta. People need to be able to leave a bad platform for a better one, not integrate their bad platform with the platforms people go to to get away from the bad platform in the first place.

@jon

They should be embarrassed. They’re not. I consider it a handy indicator of whom I’m free to ignore.

@jon Why would news media should be embarrased for using this logo when millions of people use their app?
