@swizzlevixen definitely useful. Kinda started a bit before the pandemic when @tvaziri mentioned his efforts. Pretty far along and movies, & someTV. Music barely organized in folders,. Books and magazines pretty good. My biggest worry is photos & videos.
For conventions I use mostly plex style with some Kodi ideas. Don't have plex installed per se, I just copy stuff to a usb & play on tv oi an rpi. Considering jellyfin. I do use Calibre. For cataloging tMM and filebot for renaming
@malducin @tvaziri Thank you! That’s great to hear. I appreciate the feedback.
I guess for magazines I have PDFs mostly. I … haven’t really considered photos aside from basically throwing everything in Apple Photos (née iPhoto) and crossing my fingers.
Is tMM tinyMediaManager? I didn’t know about that before.
@swizzlevixen yep tinyMediaManager mainly because it's self contained and cross platform, although it has some limitations. But for TV & movie cataloging I like it.
Magazines, especially physical I use Google Sheets. Books library Thing but might switch to bookwyrm. Since I'm Linux based don't have a good solution for photos or music, hence using filebot and things like Picard and then organize into folders.
What I really need to do is get the hang of handbrake instead of only ffmpeg
@swizzlevixen Thanks for this! I've been trying to learn more about Plex servers and this info is especially helpful.
With books, I've never gotten the DeDRM tool to work inside Calibre, and so I actually use an old MacBook Air with a super outdated copy of Calibre and the Kindle app to do that. Additionally I'm not able to get anything published after 2021 or so (the transition seems to have happened sometime in 2022) unlocked via DeDRM. I've been watching the MobileRead forums for an update.
