It happens, but not usually like this in summer cyclo-cross. That said, it was an unusually wet and muddy race, which added to the fun.

Jacco van der Linden@DurableAce Do you have summer CX in the UK? Only the thought of riding a CX race with summer temperatures scares me!
@Jaccovdl we do, although the number of races is variable. The league in my region sadly doesn’t organise summer CX races any more, but there are still some individual events.
The races are usually in the evening so the temperatures are a bit lower. I remember one race my club @BristolCX organised a few years ago and it was around 30 °C! 🥵
