I am in the process of getting an #oled #lg screen. I know that there is an issue with subpixel #rendering on windows. I am curious if there is a fix for it on #linux? I know you can set it e.g. in KDE, but not sure if thats actually a solution to bad text display on oleds?
So I have the oled now and esp. colored fonts on terminal look terrible, anybody a hint? #oled #subpixel rendering
I can`t find anything about this topic online. Nobody using #linux in an #oled as a #desktop yet?
@samurro i use an LG OLED TV as my linux desktop, and i have no big issues, except for 4K 120Hz, where my TV is going into YUV422 Mode, and things get messy with text.. Gaming, no problem.
but i've also heard about one TV/Monitor that have different subpixels, even windows can't handle it well (maybe today better), but i can't remember which TV/Monitor it was..

@samurro

Why would this be #OLED specific. All screens (that you would realistically want to use) have subpixels.

@__jz Because of the specific arrangment of subpixels on #oled screens (qled and woled)
