I asked this question over on Twitter, but I'm curious what mastodon creators have got for me...

I'm working on a queer cozy fantasy about a demon running a pub and honestly? I think it's going to be amazing. Actually, I know it's going to be amazing. So I want to help it succeed in ANY way I can. I'm making a list of ideas.

What's the best/craziest/most fun way you've seen a creator promote their work?

@coyotejme My first thought is Abigail Barnette (pen name for Jenny Trout) and the way she promoted her self-published novel The Boss. The first thing she did was do a blow-by-blow summary of 50 Shades of Gray, pointing out everything wrong with it. It drew quite a crowd. Then she released her take on billionaire BDSM (The Boss) in serial format for free and got people hooked. Then she ended it on a cliffhanger and released the sequel, this time for money. You bet I bought it when it came out.
