sp4rk@yurnidiot Stop posting things like ths as cute please! The dog clearly is uncomfortable, I wonder why it doesn't get up and goes away but maybe the owner told it not to. The seal doesn't have to be friendly, this could also be claiming the dog as a resource. But I don't know much about seals. And please stop touching wild animals, everyone! Not good for them, not good for you.

Larry O'Brien@yurnidiot @codinghorror It's not cool to interact with marine mammals this way. I can see that the sea lion is approaching the dog, but the person petting it is being very irresponsible. These are wild animals and should be left at a distance, for their safety, the pets' safety, and the safety of the humans. In addition to "just" biting, there's acclimation and disease vectors.

ajaxStardustDunno if it would be why, but I saw something on the "morning" news (#qualified for "morning" news is not the same as "evening" news) about some sort of #unprecedented amount of #sealions [or otherwise] going up on public beaches.
the news #anchors were mocking the #humans as they complained of unexpected behavior from the wild animals when attempting to touch and pet them.
