Yep, same here
I am definitely happy here. I don't get enraged. I don't have the adrenaline or dopamine hits from getting included or excluded. I don't feel as rushed to respond. I still respond quicker than I need to but there is a pressure missing I can't explain.
@palafo you might define ‘engagement’ differently to me but I’ve noticed it’s much more normal to have polite and friendly conversations on Mastodon
I am new to Bluesky and have noticed it is the same as Twitter: if someone doesn’t know you they often ignore your reply
Here I feel more welcome to engage with posts by replying, and I will reply to people’s replies to me
@palafo totally.
I don't have particularly notable accounts on Twitter or Masto, but had more followers on Twitter than here. Similar engagement though, and usually higher quality.
Like there's no feeling of "oh God, what now?" with an unread notificaiton here.
Must admit I'd a long running interest in BlueSky but once I made the shift here I never followed up on getting an account - so can't compare to there.
@palafo i don't even understand how the algorithms are supposed to be used. i never even look at that type of content on any of the mentioned sites and go straight to where i was planning to go; which with the algorithms and ads, made it more cumbersome.
but i'm an old IT fancier, who still worship the likes of IRC and XMPP, etc. I only use mainstream social media to reach out to my mainstream hobbies like aquarium, poultry, and gardening since there is no such activity on FOSS networks.

Again and again I would agree with you.
I like you.
