Whoa.

Florida insurance premiums have now SOARED 206% since DeSantis became governor.

On average, Florida homeowners pay over $4,200/year for home insurance, TRIPLE the national average of $1,700.

Some insurers are now leaving the state entirely.

The DeSantis administration's response so far has been to call the insurance companies 'woke.'

@MeidasTouch
And people that stay and pay are as stupid as people that stay on Twitter and pay Elmo.
Leave Florida while you can...

@MeidasTouch Because what could be more woke than giant insurance companies seeking to avoid crippling payouts on huge damage claims!

All they need to do now is change their pronouns.

@MeidasTouch $4200! I pay $1000 in the natural-disaster-prone Midwest.
@regeya @MeidasTouch How many hurricanes have passed through your state, lately.
@MeidasTouch And their response is 😂 😂 . Because they don't have to give a shit about any temper tantrum DeSantis throws...
@MeidasTouch lol, yeah, insurance companies are known for that, yeah, being empathic and ready to leave money on the table for it.
@MeidasTouch and the companies that don't want to deal with it have left the state altogether
@MeidasTouch woke? I thought he loved free market capitalism.

@MeidasTouch
The deeper irony is State Farm also pulled out of California.

Yet without whiplash, the right went from, 'They're leaving a place that's too woke' to 'they're leaving a place because they're too woke'

Just wow.

@MeidasTouch

For his next brilliant move Ron, DeSantis is going to announce the rebranding of the state of Florida to, "Y".

@MeidasTouch
DeSantis pretends corporations have feelings that will get hurt by his name calling.

If he weren't so evil, I'd have to reject him because he's so dim.

@MeidasTouch It's a good thing they have a Governor DEDICATED to helping the people in his state! I'm sure he'll address this in NO TIME! Probably after he tells all the Nazis to leave!
Trump’s Favorite Extreme Think Tank Is Jumping Ship for DeSantis

The Claremont Institute’s leaders helped engineer Donald Trump’s efforts to stay in office after his 2020 loss. They’re now mostly siding with Gov. Ron DeSantis.

@MeidasTouch Who knew that calling the insurance company names wouldn't have any effect on their premiums?
