"Goebbler" --- brilliant!
Brilliant! I think "Goebbler" and "Skunkible" are my favs.
I love this comic, but think that the app should be spelled Goebblr.
Anyone catch Jack's post trollollolling @mark@threads.nyet ? 🤭
Nyet now b. 🤭🔥
max props for writing it all down in the image alt text 🏆 🥰
@jensorensen I figured goebbler was twitter, influenzza -> instagram, and happytime funfeed would be tiktok? (couldn't figure out skunkible)
idk about the authoritarian part, but I've always thought of tiktok as the most censored social media, although it's likely I'm behind
@jensorensen It's very refreshing to see a comparison between different social networks that doesn't force some kind of equivalence between a network run by fascists and a network where you have to put in some effort to curate your feed because there is no algorithm to do that for you
Those things are not as equal as some people seem to think
This is fitting
Spot on!
I think Goebbler is meant to be Facebook? At this point in Facebook I try to unfollow everything thats not a special interest group (ttrpgs mostly, but also blender, sometimes medieval history or linguistics) or memes. And if the meme groups stop being funny they go away go.
Sometimes I still get caught in a doom thread though talking about awful and mentally exhausting world problems I cant do anything about though, and sometimes it still makes me unable to focus on working to pay my bills. Which is bad.
I dunno about the rest.
The happy happy funtime only™ one might be tiktok.
As for ones that seem less awful: friendica is FB-like but decentralized. Federates with mastodon but has features you dont get on mastodon like end to end encrypted messaging and contact-groups and it connects to pleroma and you can follow RSS feeds. Its what I'm posting from now. No meaningful charlimits, and it supports bbcode text formatting too. Pretty nice features.
Calckey looks neat. Havent tried it yet. Seems to me like a mastodon+ from the features. It's a fork of Misskey with more features.
Kbin looks like a potentially decent way to ditch reddit.
Peertube is a youtube alternative. I've watched exactly one peertube video so far. It worked fine. Theres a search engine for it i have bookmarked on my PC but I'm drawing a blank on the name atm. [Sepia search]
