Im' sitting looking out of the window at the continuing #rain & thinking of the people suffering from the #heat in Southern Europe.

The problem with the designation 'global warming' is that it never really captured how the #ClimateCrisis was going to shift #weather patterns.

The deniers are whispering 'see there's no great changes, we've always had this weather from time to time'... without looking beyond their garden, or caring about how others are suffering.

We need to get real & fast!

@ChrisMayLA6 And now we see Starmer suggesting Labour needs to soften its stance because ULEZ was apparently a crucial issue for voters in Uxbridge. I am really starting to wish Sadiq Khan was Labour leader.

@JonSparks @ChrisMayLA6 I have tried to be supportive of Starmer, despite his right-of-the-party stances (which I used to think were necessary to ensure an election win), but now I’ve lost patience.

Starmer could go down in history as the man who lost an election handed to him on a plate, because Labour voters stayed home. 😱

@KimSJ @JonSparks @ChrisMayLA6 He frustrates me by saying things like we have to make Brexit work. It's quite clear from documented evidence it doesn't work but he doesn't want to alienate brexit voting labour supporters.
@UKFilmNerd @KimSJ @ChrisMayLA6 brexit voting labour supporters are a shrinking constituency.

@JonSparks @UKFilmNerd @KimSJ

Lets hope so, but I still know a few #lexiters, who really seem to be delusional (mind you they were then too)

@UKFilmNerd @JonSparks @ChrisMayLA6 The concept of ‘Make Brexit work’ is right, in the sense that we are where we are, and we need to make the best of it. I just wish Labour would find a way of saying that without the implication that there ever was a way to make Brexit a good idea.

@KimSJ @UKFilmNerd @JonSparks

Yes, Kim, absolutely this!
Some other slogan.... but lets hope we don't get 'Make Britain Great Again' instead....

To be frank; Labour's best slogan might be: clearing the ruins & starting again!

@ChrisMayLA6 @UKFilmNerd @JonSparks I think we’re homing in on the right message: “Rebuild Britain” (literally, in the case of housing, crumbling roads, schools and hospitals, etc!)
@KimSJ @ChrisMayLA6 Yes, I know his priority is to get elected, but he doesn't do that by courting the right wing of the Tory party and other loony fringe types.

@JonSparks @KimSJ

I agree, but clearly he has a cabal of advisors telling him otherwise.... I think the media's attacks on Corbyn are also throwing a long shadow?

@ChrisMayLA6 personally I think the term climate change neutered the description. It doesn't sound scary. It needs to sounds as scary as it is.
@ChrisMayLA6 indeed true. The heat waves we are facing near central regions near to equator is like living in hell. Our northern countryside in Pakistan has reached max temp in history yet we are in denial

@ChrisMayLA6

In general, climate deniers are consuming misinformation and disinformation about the climate on social media & their social ingroups. For example, fox news & the social ingroups that watch fox news (plus all the similar News platforms, many of which are owned or have billionaire backers)

Of course, prolonged not "normal" weather in the local environments would at least make them question their own idea of "normal".

@ChrisMayLA6 no matter what word or phrase would have been used the reality deniers would still be denying it. And the oil industry would still be pumping dosh into liars and crooks to confuse people into thinking there's a debate on the issue.
If it was an actual honest debate, wording would matter. But it's not, and never was. The deniers have known the facts since day 1.
@ChrisMayLA6 Chris real & fast is not a political donor's needed selling words!
