IMAX movies like Oppenheimer that use 70mm film still require a Palm Pilot, and instead of rewriting the software they just made an emulator.
I don’t know why, but I love this. https://www.theverge.com/23801118/imax-movie-palm-pilot-oppenheimer

My question is, why is IMAX still on physical film. The movie is shot and edited/mastered digitally, so why don't they just use a digital projector like every other modern movie?
I don't understand how that can be the case. Since it's shot digitally and edited digitally, wouldn't printing it to film lower the quality?
@givlucas @atatassault Nolan shoots on film, not digitally.
Since I have made zero films and he has made many wildly successful ones, I’m going to assume he knows what he’s doing.
