@stux I’ve taken it from DC to Flagstaff (and elsewhere)and I can say a few things. It’s semi-scenic…trains don’t always run through the best parts of the US. They use freight tracks.
Some railroads take vastly better care of their tracks than others. You can tell.
Rail crews have amazing engineers…because they break down in amazing places.
Finally. Lots of people in the Midwest think they can beat the train to the crossing. Most are wrong. Hit some fool on every trip.
