Following a short reprieve from winter weather, the month of June is greeting Newfoundland and Labrador’s Avalon Peninsula with a serving of snow.

Tire rubber contains antioxidant chemicals, most notably 6PPD and DPPD, that are released into the air as tiny particles during normal driving. A single compound formed from 6PPD, known as 6PPD-quinone was previously shown to be implicated in the death of coho salmon in urban waterways, but the broader atmospheric chemistry and potential human health impacts of these compounds have remained largely unexplored until now.
(all the more reason, #TinaKotek, to quit regressive taxing of energy use, and start taxing the road interface: #tires)
"…the mixtures were far more toxic than the original #tirechemicals themselves and are far more toxic than the one compound previously implicated in environmental studies," says York Uni Associate Prof Ali Abdul-Sater…focusing on a single compound may substantially underestimate…risks associated with tire-derived air pollution."

A new study published today reports that chemicals released from vehicle tires can transform in the atmosphere into complex mixtures that may pose previously unrecognized risks to human respiratory health.
Computer stuff needs to get more expensive. A lot more expensive. The fact that it's cheap causes silly things to be done with it.
Computers should not be in TIRES!
TIRES should not connect to the internet!
TIRES should not connect to OTHER CARS!

best secondary car-related purchase (trailer) i have ever made beside the next best car-related purchase i have made.
This trailer has been infinitely useful even if the car is not technically "rated" for it, a cross-Canada trip and endless runs to the transfer depot, stores, soil dispensary, and rock yard have made it a huge part of our home life. Even if the lights on it only work 75% of the time (seriously... how can they not make these things more robust?)
And the little electric pump is so great. Can plug in to both 120V home and 12V car outlet, has multiple ends for different types of tires and inflatable things. Great for home, car and camping. Set a PSI or kPa, hit the go button and it runs until the pressure is met.
Highly recommend! (both purchased at CanTire but the trailer comes from many places under different names (all made in Ontario). The pump is CanTire brand Motomaster

I like the not so known #GooglePhotos feature to "Copy Sticker". Used it heavily to building the composition of my daughter's yearbook at the #kindergarden .
Or now sharing here just a stack of #winter tires.
Another #TransportationWorkGroup?
Why don’t you just tell the truth, Tina? #Amazon got your tongue?
There’s already a way to measure #roadusage in a perfectly non-regressive manner, isn’t there?
But, even more so than most Oregon Democratic leadership, you fear multinational corporations threatening your campaign cash, don’t you?
Hooey! You have already been scientifically advised on #tires.
Registration fees are the most regressive taxation.
