We don't have a cancer drug shortage
We don't have an energy shortage
We don't have an insulin shortage
We don't have a housing shortage
We don't have a teacher shortage
We don't have a labor shortage
We don't have a food shortage

We have a billionaire excess who buy politicians to deny us our basic human rights.

@QasimRashid Nor a baby formula or children's acetaminophen shortage.
@ned @QasimRashid remember, if you see someone stealing baby formula - you didn't

@4bz @ned @QasimRashid

Once at my previous job at a large grocery store chain (you can probably guess which one), I saw a lady come in with no shoes and it was the middle of winter.

A little while later I saw her leaving in tears, and I noticed she had shoes on. I didn't try stop her or tell any of the higher ups.

@QasimRashid While it's kind of a generalization--it's close enough for me. I will definitely boost this.
@QasimRashid we have at large a shortage of basic empathy for each other (and perhaps ourselves) and fail to realize there is NO planet ‘B’
@QasimRashid
We print too much $ hoping to get it in hands of ordinary.
Financial companies direct that to a few - how they become billionaires. Government institutions are bought by billionaires. A vicious circle. No chance of equal weighted vote due to electoral college.
@QasimRashid I mean it's just called greed. And it's not just billionaires. Politicians and billionaires are empowered by many other folks. Those folks need to change their mentality as well or nothing will improve.
@QasimRashid Paraphrasing something I saw. The problem isn’t that we can’t assist the poor. We can. The problem is that we can’t satisfy the wealthy.
@QasimRashid Rich people are striving to completely destroy us. I despise them all.
@QasimRashid
It always comes down to greed.

@QasimRashid

You need either a long overdue overhaul or revolution.

@QasimRashid
We apparently have a real housing shortage here
🇨🇦 thanks to 55 years of nimbys and not building enough new housing. Apparently we're building lots of new (supposedly affordable) housing quickly now, but I'm guessing quickly will still be a decade.

Most of the rest of your list applies here as-is, and of course nimbys and house speculators are a lot of why we have that housing shortage.
@QasimRashid I'd say there is a shortage of humans.
@QasimRashid we do have all those things save one. it's just that they're all caused by capital control of the means of production.
@QasimRashid Perhaps we have a shortage of courage
to think outside the box
To take a risk to do the right thing
To see a coup when it’s staring us in the face
To believe them when they tell us who they are
They’ve tossed protocol decency integrity law ethics and truth and facts into the trash
We need to step up beyond the vote
Our reps must roll up their sleeves do what needs to be done to bolster our institutions democracy our most vulnerable our climate for future generations: our hope

@QasimRashid we definitely have a housing shortage. The existing home ownership class does not want to see more homes built and the price of housing decrease.

Every city in the country has tons of restrictions on what you can build on your land, with the objective to reduce housing.

@NBAnthony2k @QasimRashid might be good to specify what country do you mean. But if I assume it's US - aren't there already more empty houses than unhoused people?
@shine @QasimRashid every major metro area in the US(outside of Detroit) has a massive housing shortage solely due to ridiculous restrictions on building shorted by current house owners
@QasimRashid brilliant last sentence, super ✊🏼
@QasimRashid That's capitalism working as intended ☹️
@QasimRashid I totally agree with your statement. What is the remedy?
@QasimRashid we need a billionaire shortage.
@QasimRashid we reached the point that we have enough of everything for everyone. But people say that capitalism makes this possible and by distributing it to people we counter the magic capitalism that made this possible, meanwhile denying people access to sustain the holy capitalism.
@QasimRashid Wow I have never thought of this this way. But you’re absolutely right. We done F’d it up.
@QasimRashid
In the same breath, that billionnaire excess are who are credited with the invention of society.
@QasimRashid
@QasimRashid how do we get rid of the billionaires? Eat them?
@QasimRashid bad-applism is a smokescreen for hostile bad-apple-creating system
@QasimRashid Before retiring in 2010 I worked on continuous emission analyzers. When working on a co2 analyzer I could read ambient air. I never saw co2 at 400 PPM or above. Now you don't see below 400. Either fossil fuels are making things worse or George Soros is burning money in open pits. #climatechange #ClimateCrisis #environment #Science
