Playing through Cyberpunk 2077 again, I still don't get why it cops so much hate.

It truly is one of the best games ever made, it just had a rocky start like nearly every single open world FPS RPG out there. Think of games like Skyrim and Fallout 3 and 4.

Yes, there were problems with Cyberpunk, but the game systems, the city itself, are all spot on.

Sometimes games get hate long after problems are fixed, for no good reason; sometimes it's the opposite #Gaming

@sortius I'm on my first playthrough. It was shaky at the start for sure, but it's now a deep and complete experience (vehicle handling remains a bucket of shite). The world-building is second-to-none.
@trib @sortius I thought deus ex human revolution did it better.
@richservo @trib Deus Ex was good, but it didn't feel anywhere near as alive as Night City does
@sortius @trib have you played yakuza games? I started Judgement and man RGG knows how to make a living city.

@richservo @trib not really my style of game, but I do have it. I just couldn't connect with the game as readily as I did Cyberpunk.

That said, I do know they're highly regarded games by fans of the series

@sortius @trib of course nothing compares to RDR2. That game has such a living world there’s things happening that you can’t even see!
@richservo @trib for sure, Rockstar did really well with RDR2. RDR was good, but 2 certainly took it that step further
