Don't let hatred of Musk lead to trusting of Zuck.
@lauren I don’t trust Zuck but he’s absolutely the lesser of two evils.
@robstahlnecker I don't agree. They are both bad but in entirely different ways. Zuck's behavior could be categorized as sociopathic in many ways. Musk is all over the place like a moth attracted to bright lights. Given the power dynamics, Zuck is far more dangerous at this juncture.
@lauren I see Zuck as a guy just chasing the money. Musk seems like a true believer in the far right.
@robstahlnecker They both seem to be sociopaths, but of different stripes, so to speak.

@robstahlnecker @lauren

Perhaps but agreeing with this is a path to acceptance of an evil. We see it far too often in politics, where folks pick the 'least worst' option. Not a path to good things...

Evil = evil.
Relative evil is still evil.
Etc.

@robstahlnecker @lauren I think the Rohingya would disagree with you and possibly the British will also come to do so. Facebook's engagement software amplifies conflict and is vulnerable to manipulation by well-heeled bad actors.
@ravenonthill Twitter does the same thing. All the corporate social networks do.
@robstahlnecker no. Pre-Musk Twitter did not participate in genocide and did not swing elections in the UK and possibly the USA. If one is going to go by body count Facebook is a whole lot worse than Twitter.
@lauren never rehabilitate billionaires without thinking about their ulterior motives
@lauren I have plenty of hate to go around.
@lauren This needs to go Viral!
@lauren the perceived rivalry is by design.
@lauren indeed. as a bonus, it also sounds like something @coachgowron might say.
@lauren Would eat a light bulb first.
One of the ones with mercury.

@lauren Well said. At the end of the day, and simplifying much:

Elon: incompetence. Zuck: malice.

@lauren I cannot understand the people who are flocking to Zuck again. Out of the frying pan into the fire.

@lauren
Lauren, don't let your hatered of Mark Zuckerberg lead to you de-humanising him as 'zuck'.

When you do that you are walking the same road as Elon Musk

@easytarget Many people consider Zuck a "friendly" nickname and I've been asked not to use it because it *humanizes" him. I use it because of what it rhymes with. So ...
@lauren Also, we need to stop calling Mark Zuckerberg "zuck", he's not our pal.
@axx I call him that because of what it rhymes with in my head. I consider it the opposite of a friendly term.
@lauren
People suggesting I should go to #Threads
Ahh, no thanks.
@lauren And also Dorsey owns a bunch of the company formerly known as the bird site (now x).
He’s right there with Musk.
