The notion of a broken clock being sometimes right is based on a gross misunderstanding of what information is.

A clock that always shows the same time is never right, even in the moments of the day when the time happens to be what it shows, because you don't gain any information about what time it is by looking at the clock.

This reasoning also applies to chatbots. If you can't tell whether what you have been given is useful information unless you alreay know the information, then you haven't been given useful information.

I can't handle how many software companies have fallen hook, line and sinker for this "believe in the mission" horseshite.

Big shops started doing that because management consultancies told them to, and they're both full of shit.

Stop demanding that job applicants write love letters to you in order to be deemed worthy you self-aggrandising fucking wanks.

Jobseeking is already an exercise in ritual humiliation, you don't need to add having your fucking egos stroked into the mix.

This week's comic: The Big Dumb War Cycle

#war #foreignpolicy #uspol #cartoon

OK, I started writing HOUSE OF BODIES thinking it would be a horror story but it seems to just… want to be about a bunch of people at a gym?

Yesterday’s effort included these lines:

"Denny waited a while to make his move on Polly, which anybody could have told him was an idea with no upside”

and

"It is impossible to fidget nonchalantly, but Denny tried.”

I am pleased with them.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I would still like to see the rest of the Epstein materials even though there's now a war going on. I can handle multiple things at once. Don't hold back on my account.

"I've literally no patience for anyone saying trans KNs 'just' have to go to DMV & get a new license. There was no time given and no process in place. Letters were sent to some whose licenses were invalidated, but not all. There was no grace period & many weren't notified. More or less a mathematical inevitability people will be charged for suspended licenses who had no idea a legally issued license was invalidated overnight for being trans."
