NEW: Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch is demanding access to information about Mississippi residents who obtain abortions or gender-affirming care in other states.
She and 18 other Republican attorneys generals say investigators need access to the information to enforce their states' laws banning abortion and gender-affirming care.

Their jurisdiction ends at the border of their state. There is no reason for them to investigate or even know about what a resident does elsewhere.
This is like if California demanded to know what guns CA residents were using at firing ranges in Arizona because of California gun laws, or Indiana wanted to prosecute its residents for smoking weed in Illinois. Proper response to such garbage is this:

- Activity X is illegal in AG Fitch’s state, but not some other US states.
- Fitch needs information on any residents of her state who have traveled to those other states and, while there, legally engaged in Activity X.
-Fitch needs this information for (no other stated purpose but) *not* bringing any legal action against those residents.

I wonder how they think that their state laws travel to other states.
If a state outlaws weed can it demand data on residents who go to CO or CA and purchase edibles at a legal dispensary?

Fuck these red states thinking they can control the free travel of their residents -- and what they can legally do out of state.
I hear the clang of many doors on all the women whom this law & these states turn into prisoners of their own bodies and perhaps prisoners in a state’s prison.
