MarkGI notice that if I see a post or comment from a federated Lemmy instance (Lemmy being a Reddit-like application that's part of the Fediverse), that, even if the post/comment has hashtags, that the hashtags are not recognized by my Mastodon instance. That's something that I hope will change. I'd like to see the hashtag rules be respected across all applications that are part of the Fediverse.

Agreed. I follow someone who has a Friendica account, and their posts, as they appear here on Mastodon, do come with working hashtags. So, I think it has something to do with how the Lemmy software is set up.
@markgrieveson I passed this on to our instance owner. Maybe he'll have insights.
