I tried to stop #Microsoft #OneDrive from saving stuff to a #clouddrive I didn't even know I "had," and now HALF of my #Shortcuts are missing, ALL the #links to my #DocumentsFolder redirect to a #shortcut for OneDrive and now I'm SCARED to even TOUCH anything lest I delete some records I need.

I just want all of MY FILES on MY #COMPUTER, accessible to ME ALONE.

WHY IS THIS A PROBLEM?

@FatherEnoch Yeah, this is why I'm on #linux I know it's not the solution for everyone, but #windows 11 was just five steps too far for me when I already had to debloat and shut down half of Windows 10 just to be able to pretend like I had control over my system and files.

If you're not locked in to software that can't be run through Wine or similar on Linux, you should look into it. Debian, Fedora, and OpenSUSE are all good places to start.

@s20 @FatherEnoch Yeah... dont enable onedrive on windows.... Not unpess you have a backup of all your files. This was one of the prinary reasons I switched to linux for day-to-day use -- between timeshift and rsync I can backup everything and if I had to, I could wipe everything and switch to a different distro.
