The issue is which approach is going to get us to safer spaces in practice.
Demanding that everyone mask. (I have no doubt that approximately none of the other kids will be).

Helping families make the best decisions they can, including masking up if someone else there is.
Know your moderators on your instance. Offer to become one if they need help.
Does this fella even have a mastodon account on any instance?
Your profile is publicly viewable at https://mstdn.science/@TRyanGregory so it’s not like moderators can do much about stalkers from Twitter screenshotting your public mastodon posts and tweeting out their misinterpretations.
If you think they are ‘following’ you in a technical sense, look through your followers and see if you can find the account in question. Not much anyone can do without knowing the account…
My guess is that they may not be ‘following’ you here, as they could just as well browse your profile without following, or look at your public profile on the web.
This is how I see it.
I think people see your followers count, and forget everything about how you’re mostly just a guy with a microscope, studying biological samples, or whatever sciencey stuff you might be up to. Your Twitter D-celebrity status is because you posted informative and entertaining stuff.
For fairness, SocialBlade rates your influence weight as B- across all Twitter accounts. And you said things as controversial as that getting sick is bad…
I’ll say this also. I’m glad that you notice that I try to ‘stick up’ for you, as I think anyone who values your past efforts and sees that you are unfairly attacked should do so.
