It was worth pointing out. But yesterday's "smoke" at #Fagradalsfjall #volcano 2021 eruption site would have increased in activity by now if it was cracks of an opening rift eruption. So what was it? Maybe outgassing from 2021 lava enhanced by high humidity and low sun angle at sunset. #geology

Changes in a borehole at Auðnir on Vatnsleysuströnd may be (another) harbinger of a volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Its owner says that it was flooded shortly before the last eruption - and now is again.

As we monitor for activity at #Fagradalsfjall & #Keilir #volcano in #Iceland, keep in mind no one knows where it will erupt until we see cracks opening and lava flowing. Anyone claiming to know are frauds pushing ad views. 2021 & 2022 best estimates were within a few km. #geology

Anyone who has been occasionally monitoring the webcams for activity at #Fagradalsfjall & #Keilir #volcano🌋 has probably noticed a hint of the high latitude of #Iceland, almost at the Arctic Circle. At 2AM local time the webcam showed the darkest of night was civil twilight. 👀

#Iceland seismometer sensor "FAF" was disconnected temporarily to move it out of the path of the lava flow from #LitliHrutur. In the past webcams have been destroyed🔥 by lava when staff didn't act quickly to move them.
