#Iceland Met Office IMO raised the #aviation color code for #Fagradalsfjall #volcanoπŸŒ‹ to orange following a significant #quake swarm and seismic uplift in the vicinity of the 2021 & 2022 eruptions. Keep an eye on this.πŸ‘€ Langihryggur webcam looking at #Fagradalsfjall #volcanoπŸŒ‹ shows apparent smoke or steam in the area of the 2021 & 2022 eruptions. Could be a fire, or could be a new rift eruption opening. https://www.livefromiceland.is/webcams/langihryggur #Iceland #geology

While we're watching #Fagradalsfjall #volcano webcams for potential activity, that was a nice sunset. #Iceland #geology
"Volcano Watch 2023: Waiting On An Eruption" video by Reykjavik Grapevine @rvkgrapevine + Iceland Lava Show includes #drone imagery to show locations of 2021 & 2022 #Fagradalsfjall #volcano eruptions and the area north toward Keilir above current magma intrusion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5CDKebcleU #geology
It was worth pointing out. But yesterday's "smoke" at #Fagradalsfjall #volcano 2021 eruption site would have increased in activity by now if it was cracks of an opening rift eruption. So what was it? Maybe outgassing from 2021 lava enhanced by high humidity and low sun angle at sunset. #geology
"A clear message - an eruption is coming" by @RUVEnglish - A geothermal well bore hole which overflowed 1-2 days before #Fagradalsfjall #volcanoπŸŒ‹ eruptions in 2021 & 2022 is doing it again. https://nyr.ruv.is/english/2023-07-09-a-clear-message-an-eruption-is-coming-387366 #Iceland #geology

Changes in a borehole at AuΓ°nir on VatnsleysustrΓΆnd may be (another) harbinger of a volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Its owner says that it was flooded shortly before the last eruption - and now is again.

@ikluft more and more indications for another episode of the #Fagradalsfjall #Fires. I liked the two last seasons, but heard some rumors about the new episode being even better πŸ˜‰

@berndandeweg A summer tourist volcano (if we can hope it remains like that) is better than Iceland tourism supporters could have paid for.

New hazards in that area... Tourists are already scouring the countryside where a rift eruption could cut off easy exit routes. And if there's enough volume of lava flows in that area, the flow route could eventually go across the highway between Reykjavik and Keflavik Int'l Airport.
