@guidoschmidt @patrikHuebner making the switch is going to be tough for a lot of people, a start is to get them over here at least though! Hope that mastodon intro helps Patrick! Might need an update considering I made it last November

@gorillasun @guidoschmidt @patrikHuebner Tough bc of sunk cost in following & community, yes, but especially the genart crowd shouldn't have problems switching over. Remember HEN? That felt much more unintuitive than this. And still became the most vibrant and used platform pretty quickly. I hope the fediverse can become the same home to creativity and experimentation, without someone who could pull the plug..

Your intro being an excellent example of that!!! :) I still miss a lot of great people here, but the overall experience in comparison still makes it a surplus for me.

@gorillasun I feel great sadness over it. It's just abominable that one person can have that much power and use it to harm so many lives and communities. I think it's long past time to abandon that burning plague ship and jump on the good ship Fediverse. It's like the Smokers versus the floating city community in Waterworld. The Smokers might seem exciting because they're powerful and going places fast, but I'm proud of my choice to live in the more healthy community.

@Metamere all of the changes that I'm seeing over there are really harmful to smaller creators - and most generative artists are smaller creators all things considered. It also bothers me how unpredictable the changes are, it seems that everything is at the whims of Elon having a good or bad day

these days I'm active on a different part of the fediverse, kbin, because it can browse Mastodon but also has a reddit-like interface which I love! I even made a genart "subreddit" at https://kbin.social/m/genart
