Hey Nerds and Geeks of the Fediverse:

I'm bailing on Evernote. I have an Obsidian license, but it's got a bit of a learning curve.

Where do you store your notes/clipped recipes/random shit/brain? Leave comments if you have other things, or particular reasons?

@justanna I haven't used Evernote. What did you like about it, and why are you bailing on it?

I think Obsidian has a lot going for it, especially the possibility for user-created plugins, and also some real red flags (requiring a license being the biggest), but I think the #1 criterion for any PKM is that it must use plaintext/a simple markup language (which Obsidian and several others do). Like @nickanderson and @dekkzz76, I like Org-Roam, but that is because I'm already an Emacs nerd.

@blake @justanna @dekkzz76 well, orgmode is just so flexible and there are so many tools. Orgrr, denote, zettledeft, Deft, orgbrain and more. I've not tried obsidian but if I hadn't discovered all the other emacs magic I could see myself using logseq.
