Another rummage through my early #SAMCoupe dev disks for #ScreenShotSaturday!

"Texter" was a very simple text editor I'd written in SAM BASIC back in 1993, not long after I had got my SAM Coupe.

@quazarsamcoupe I thought for a moment you were announcing a new Mastodon client!

…maybe a potential Killer App for Symbiote?? 😁 (eZ80 could cope with TLS crypto?)

@noisetank Well back in 2009 with some early TCP/IP test code I did have a program sort of working to fetch my twitter page and parse through the html to display the individual messages. I remember shortly afterwards twitter moved to HTTPS so it sat on the shelf (or rather disk!)

Symbiote will have my attention again in a month's time, once the new Quazar Surround anniversary edition soundcards are done and dusted (Everything is coming together for them behind the scenes!)

@quazarsamcoupe amazing! Yeah Twitter were never the best custodians of their own API anyway, not even talking about recent events. Completely dismissive of the indie devs and 3rd parties that made the app what it is (or rather, was!) Still it was destined to go HTTPS in any case. I’ve been looking into gopherholes lately, as it happens. Maybe Finger should make a comeback too! Well maybe not, but TNFS and the stuff they are doing with FujiNet seems to be becoming a nice defacto standard (I use it with Spectranet, I’m not too familiar with the other implementations, but it’s great to see it growing).
