@jeffowski Isn't this essentially what the Super Mario games had in the Galaxy games and Odyssey?
@egallager @jeffowski Yup, that was immediately what I thought of lol
@doisbu vários jogos do kirby são assim. O mario odissey também.
@jeffowski basically tails from sonic 2
@scavello @jeffowski Kind of. The issue there was that it was all too easy to dash off and leave him behind. Sure, he’d always come back, but that would frustrate both of you.

@jeffowski

Nintendo gets this!

MarioKart has a optional steering assist / acceleration assist features that are great for that age.

@jeffowski @histoftech My daughter likes to help me when I play: I’m in Gradius or Castlevania and she tells me about every upgrade pod or torch to make sure I don’t forget to pick up one. Then she asks me if she helped, and I say yes, a lot.

(There's usually an option in the UI to transcribe text posts automatically, it's quick and fairly accurate most of the time.)

How do I make my posts more accessible to blind, deaf and deafblind people on Mastodon and the Fediverse? How do I add alt texts? | Fedi.Tips – An Unofficial Guide to Mastodon and the Fediverse

An unofficial guide to using Mastodon and the Fediverse

@jeffowski Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and some of the old Sonics have that :D
@jeffowski I'm pretty sure this is why Super Mario Galaxy had a second player mode where the second player just collects star bits
@jeffowski I would pay double for this feature.
@jeffowski Kirby Superstar has this
@jeffowski This is a wonderful idea, but I want it for me. I just want to be a person in that world and look around and explore at my own pace. No guns, no time pressure, maybe have a chat with the big bad in the boss level to see if we can deescalate.
@jeffowski City of Heroes had something like that where you could declare someone a "sidekick" or they declare you an "exemplar" and I always thought that was pretty cool.
