An announcement: Many of you may know that I am in a long-distance relationship. My fiancée @CJluvsMJ27 has recently made some serious progress in searching for a house where the both of us can live, so it's looking more and more likely that I will be leaving New Hampshire to go live with her soon. For this reason, I'd like to announce that I won't be running for reelection in 2026. There are 2 candidates that I know of who have expressed interest in filling my seat for me after I leave: Tom Brennan and Jason Quinno. Either of them would be strong progressives who align with my values, so I encourage any constituents to vote for either of them in the contested primary this September.

I unfortunately just had to cancel my Concord Monitor subscription, not because they did anything wrong, but rather because I'm too broke to afford my own personal subscription at the moment… if someone else could subscribe to them to make up for the revenue they're losing by my unsubscription, I'd appreciate it! I think the most likely agreement for the Iran talks to settle on is basically the Obama pact plus reparations.

The demand that the US control the Straits of Hormuz is nuttier than us controlling Suez or Panama. Nobody in the world wants that.

It looks like the CloudKit silent notification bug was caused by some sort of token validation added in iOS 26.4 that was dropping notifications from CloudKit. Fixed in iOS 26.4.1 by bypassing the validation for notifications that come from CloudKit

BlueSky seems to be having connectivity issues for me this afternoon... people there are blaming it on the use of AI in their codebase, so I think now would be a good time for someone to review my PR I have open against it, to tell Claude to ensure it's following the proper licensing requirements: https://github.com/bluesky-social/social-app/pull/9709
