@polarisu Thank you, everyone, for all the comments and boosting. My wife and I greatly appreciated all of the support.

I'm devastated to say that Felix took a turn for the worse a few days ago. Today, we brought him to our vet to say goodbye.

We had a list of things to do before he passed, and we were fortunate enough to do them all before saying goodbye. I'll probably be sharing a few more photos of things from the list when I feel up to it.

One of the activities was making a canvas with his paw prints using non-toxic paint. Unbeknownst to me until after, he left a mark with one of his paws on my arm.

I certainly feel he left his mark on everyone. He was always the most even tempered cat with a loud meow that he used to let you know whenever he wanted something.

He was truly my wife's cat; he was always closest to her, but he would sometimes still lay on my lap for a few minutes (quite an honor from him) at a time and never oppose attention from me. We would joke that he had a look of irritation, but his purring and receptiveness to being petted would betray that look.

I'm grateful we had many good years with him. When we adopted him in 2007, he had a bad respiratory infection and was not expected to have a very good or long life. My wife and I nursed him back to health and gave him over 15 years of a healthy life. Almost up until the end, he was quite active for a cat his age. He would still play and run around up until the last week or so.

I'm grateful he was able to go peacefully before he would have started suffering. Thank you, Felix, for being the wonderful, wonderful cat you were named after.
