Allen B. Skye@vfxsup @technotim I got a b-hyve controller a couple years ago. Our water district offers huge rebates on that stuff so I paid next to nothing for it. I had to learn to trust the automatic program last summer, but it’s been great. It turns itself off when we have crazy wind and obviously, when it rains.
Michael Weiss@technotim of course not! Lawn watering has been automated for many decades. It's just that now you can do it better with more accurate weather and moisture conditions so that you're doing it more efficiently and keeping your plants healthier.

@technotim Also, I have two B-Hyve devices, one for automatically watering my potted plants (makes me smile every time it notifies me of completion) and one for topping up my swimming pool when the level starts to go down - saves me dragging a hose out.
