The most surprising news about Tweetdeck being broken is that Tweetdeck is still alive. I know press would riot if not got killed but that sounds like even more incentive for him to kill it.
BAHAHAHA, this will work out well! They really would've been better off just shutting it down completely.

At least Twitter's new CEO is leading the charge to reduce system load by Tweeting absolutely nothing about the recent issues.
Here we go, Musk finally learned that TweetDeck existed.
@paul Here we go... πŸ˜…
@paul I heard he is cutting off access to TweetDeck to unverified users (who don’t pay for a checkmark)? Is that correct?
@dalfen @paul yes that’s what they just announced today. Within 30 days.
@paul @jerome Omg… it’s like he’s trying to get rid of Twitter’s users 🀭
(or I guess he figures ppl will pay)
@dalfen @paul @jerome he is. It’s controlled demolition abd changing the place. Google not indexing tweets is delicious though.
@dalfen @paul That’s what I read. He needs to write a book called π‘―π’π’˜ 𝒕𝒐 𝑺𝒆𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 π‘΄π’π’π’†π’š 𝒐𝒏 π‘π’Šπ’“π’†.

@paul @vox_n_thecosmos Oh cool… how did you use the different font?

And yes, he really should… someone just said to me, β€œWell, the man carries sinksβ€” you know how heavy sinks are? You can’t think of everything when you’re carrying sinks all day… you just can’t.” πŸ˜‚

@dalfen @paul I typed it, highlighted what I wanted to put in π’Šπ’•π’‚π’π’Šπ’„π’”, chose font, and scrolled to italics. It’s an iPhone feature.
@vox_n_thecosmos @paul Well, it looks like I can do that in the Notes app, but not the Masto app… I’ll see if I can do it some other way.
@paul on a scale from 1-10, how happy are you to not have to deal with this anymore
@paul I'm certain he will figure out a way to make this even dumber before the 30d clock is up but we're already so far gone my imagination is strained
@paul Next week: You can only post up to 3 tweets per day unless you subscribe to Blue

@paul β€œWhat part of our community haven't we made mad?"

"I know of one...”

@ismh @paul The best part is that if the site was actually being run well, access to a new Tweetdeck that actually worked would be a real reason to upgrade to Twitter Blue.
@paul There goes my last window into the Twitter universe. I still had plenty of people I follow there who had not left for Mastodon, Bluesky, etc.
@paul I stopped using Twitter last year and somehow I'm still disappointed in Musk's level of pettiness

@paul im old enough to remember tweetdeck taking feeds from other social networks ...

#simplertimes

@paul I think that is the final straw for me. It was fun while it lasted
@paul Tweetdeck has such a bizarre history
@paul I wonder when people will stop calling 'Verified' to users who just paid some money for premium features.
@paul silent resignation something something
@paul are we sure she is still CEO though?
@paul Maybe the new CEO realised that it was not a good decision to be the new CEO.

@paul will they get rid of the dumb limits too? Lol
@paul Probably has to clear her tweets with the communications team but all she gets as a reply is a poop emoji.
@paul She was going to but she hit her quota.

@paul I bet she didn't think this job would be THIS short. She's probably over there going 'I thought you were gonna let me do it, i still have fuck all say while you ruin things”

which we all know is what would happen.

@paul She’s really making it clear just how much she’s in charge.
@paul Wonder if Merriam-Webster has updated their definition of figurehead yet to add β€œTwitter CEO”.
@paul pretty evident she is just a face for the brand. Dim wit Elon still controls the ship.
@paul Um Elon Musk is no longer the ceo of Twitter
@paul The fact that she took the job in the first places tells us all we need to know about her decision making process.
@paul I guess even the new ceo knows... when you have nothing nice to say...

@paul Uggg, I switched over to new TweetDeck, believing the text that says I can always switch back.

But I guess that text is old, because on mine at least, it's impossible to return to the old DDoS version.

@paul i thought they intended to years ago after the promised revised Mac app never surfaced
@paul
I loved tweet deck, when it breaks I'll use Twitter even less πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

@paul
What is this "advance 30-day notice" malarkey they speak of?

That's new.

@paul Same. I thought that would have been one of the first things to go..
@laurenwu kind of assumed it flew under the radar and he didn’t notice.
@paul I have a hunch he didn't even know it existed and was still running until now, given it never displayed ads, etc.
@paul but Tweetdeck belongs to Twitter, so not third party…
@paul I figured this was the first thing to go, along with rent payments.
@paul Elon definitely doesn’t know Tweetdeck exists. He would be livid that there are no ads on it.
@jsit he might now, wonder what will happen next.
@paul It's the only way I've used Twitter on desktop for years. I never understood why everyone was complaining about "the algorithm" - I literally never had to deal with it.
@paul people rioted with the Reddit changes but whole hell of a lot of good that caused. Too many people addicted to this stuff.
