Fellow hacker Simon Tournier did an experiment: reproducing a pure #Guix 2020 paper in the worst-case scenario—shutting down network access except for #SoftwareHeritage and #Disarchive, and from there rebuilding everything from source.

I don’t think this had ever been tried before.

Actually, designing a deployment tool that can still mostly work under those extreme conditions had never been tried either!

@voltagex Not formally yet AFAIK, but Simon has been contributing for years so I guess we’ll get there eventually.
